Dear exchange students,

we are very happy to welcome you at Hochschule Fresenius and will do our best to make your semester with us a great experience! There are a few organizational differences compared to degree-seeking students from abroad, which we would like to mention here:

Enrollment

To complete your enrollment, we only need a proof of health insurance (apart from the other documents that you already handed in for your application).

➡️ If you are an EU/EEA/UK student and emailed us your EHIC/GHIC card, everything is fine and you don’t need to hand in anything else.

➡️ If you have an EHIC/GHIC card and have not sent it to us yet, please do so.

➡️ If you have another type of health insurance, you can email a copy of your insurance certificate showing which benefits are covered by your health insurance to [email protected]. Sarah will assess whether your health insurance would be sufficient to study in Germany.

Schedule

You will receive an individual schedule based on your chosen courses. This schedule can by accessed via the Service Portal.

You don't have to worry about selecting your classes, as we will initially take care of that for you. If a class is canceled or rescheduled, you will, however, need to manually subscribe to it again to see it in your schedule. Of course we will inform you about how to go about that in the beginning of the semester.

Residence Permit

If you are a non-EU national, currently studying at an EU university and already have a residence permit for the country that you are presently studying in, you will need to submit a few documents to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees:

Please forward these documents to the International Office ([email protected]) and we hand them in at the Federal Office for you.
